The Neighborhood Café is family owned and operated and located in Huntersville, NC. Our Café is located in an historic building that has been a mainstay for over 75 years. Locals know this building and we are anxious to welcome them, and patrons from all over the U.S. and world! We are open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch, and ready for you to try our specialty burrito, quiche, stuffed French toast, lobster mac ‘n’ cheese, Sunrise mimosa, and so much more.


We showcase local artist's work as décor throughout the 75-year old home. Each piece is available for purchase.

The Neighborhood Café is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast, brunch, or lunch with family and friends. Located in Huntersville, NC, we welcome patrons from the Charlotte metro areas and from all over the U.S. and world. We are located in a historic building that has been a mainstay for over 75 years. It has been through many iterations and is now managed by Kathy Diehl, who has over 25 years in the restaurant and hospitality business. Our Head Chef Victor has over 17 years of experience as a chef, including at Toast and Café 100 at the same location as The Neighborhood Café. Assistant Chef Pascual, with over 14 years of service at this location, shares Cafe duties in the kitchen with Chef Victor.

Meet Our Team

KATHY DIEHL, MANAGER

Hailing from Niagara Falls, New York, Kathy is a proud mother of five, 29-year-old twin boys and three girls ages 31 to 35. She also has two grandchildren, ages 11 and 13, with a third on the way. Always a people person, she has worked in the restaurant and hospitality business for much of her adult life. She met her husband in Arizona and they moved to Huntersville five years ago, where they now live with their three dogs and 28-year-old Cockatoo Izzy.

VICTOR CARBAJAL, HEAD CHEF

Head Chef, Victor Carbajal, was born in Southern Mexico. As a young boy, he enjoyed spending his days cooking with his mother, and this is where he learned to cook. Victor came to the U.S. as a young man of 20. He lived in Florida for one year, and then settled in Huntersville, North Carolina, and has been here for the past 17 years. He has also worked in the restaurant industry for the past 17 years, first as the Head Chef at Toast (six years), at Cafe 100 (10 years), and now at The Neighborhood Café. Victor is married, with five children, three boys and two girls, ages ranging from five to 16.

Victor Carbajal, Head Chef

PASCUAL CELESTINO, ASSISTANT CHEF

Assistant Chef Pascual was the Chef at Toast and Cafe 100, which was located at the same location as The Neighborhood Cafe. He briefly moved back to Mexico, returned to Huntersville, NC, and is now the Assistant Chef.
